I also know Michelle because of that Lady Gaga Bad Romance make up. It's very interesting that she teach girls to do different makeups for different situations. But I have no idea that she is so "influential" because of YouTube. Do you think she will make a lot of money because of this? Or will she move from the online world to the real time, like appear in some TV programs or commercials?
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of Michelle until I read your post last night. Thanks for spotlighting her. I think she does a very good job of using youtube for tutorials, and connecting people. Whether it's thorough make up or music artists she has really found a way to encompass a wide variety of people. And the platform she is using is free, and she probably makes money off the number of comments she gets.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lot of these types of video teach selections. There is one that I know gives yoga sessions on youtube videos, allowing someone to work out in the privacy of their rooms for virtually nothing.
ReplyDeleteBecause we are in an era of "free" we are finding so many people offering free information in exchange for prestige in their particular field. It is because Michelle Phan has gotten her name out through youtube that she has really increased her popularity in the field of make-up. It's really cool how giving a little something for free can really fire up an area which increases prosperity.
Interesting concept to share trade secrets... gets the word out, but also allows room for growth, interaction and future collaborations. global intellectualism... make-up style ;)

ReplyDeleteAs someone who is not very experimental with makeup, its fun to see someone having fun with makeup. I'm going to check out more of her videos. Who knows, maybe I will pick up a few tips!
