Coverage
Compare to the facebook group, the Animal Friends Croatia website has fuller coverage. It talked about the reasons for killing Kangaroo, the procedures of killing and also gave the solution of how to against killing (boycotting Adidas!). Many pictures were posted to show the cruelness, so people could realize the problem. However, Facebook provides less background information concerning the whole issue, so people may not understand the previous stories. But with the posting of its members, people can see pictures, videos, and news stories to understand and can understand the current stories.
Connection
No doubt, Facebook group has much more connections than the web page. This group has 185 members, which means all of these people care about this issue, talk to each other, and posting materials of this issue. The latest wall posting of this group was just 10 hours ago. Although the web page gives people opportunity to facebook, twitter, myspace and digg it, there is no interaction available on the page. So the it has very limited connection.
Credibility
The web page is run by an organization. Therefore, it has more source credibility. The pictures on the website also adds more credibility. However, on the Facebook group, members post a large amount of materials from Youtube and News websites. These videos, stories, pictures give the group more material credibility. Moreover, it provides different perspectives to see this issue because many people join the discussion. So I will consider both of them are credible.

Haha~ this one is so interesting. You love animals. The facebook one could provide me a community and communication platform to discuss with other people who care Kangaroos. And the official one could provide me more info and stories of protecting Kangaroos. Both of them are important. : )
ReplyDeleteBoth of these websites have good information and both seem very credible. I think the facebook page is great because it has a chance to connect people who are directly related to the issue, and possibly live in the region where this is taking place.
ReplyDeleteIt's still hard for me to believe that Kangaroos pose a hazard to Australians, and I CAN'T see them as rodents at all!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Quan that both sites provide invaluable information for the people following them. The more official website provides the hard facts where the Facebook site has more opinionated content, but both are important to the campaign at hand.
Yeah, I also feel like both of the websites seem credible and the first thing I look for is the layouts, to me that can spell credibility.
